Moet Hennessy’s Ardbeg Single Malt Scotch brand celebrated the release of its Limited Edition “Ardbog” for 2013. The celebration and tasting coincides with the Islay Whisky Festival taking place in Scotland at the end of May when the distillery throws open its doors to welcome fans from all over the world.
With a fiercely loyal and quirky customer base in the D.C. area the brand wanted a hip and edgy venue to set the scene for the tasting theme: “Everybody digs Ardbeg”. WME selected A&D Bar for the venue and depicted the archaeology theme by handing out mini shovels as guest entered to “dig for treasure” in wheelbarrows filled with hidden Ardbeg coins. WME crafted a menu to richly enhance the flavors of the scotch and A&D created signature drinks of summer punch in mini mason jars and a version of the sidecar both using Ardbeg. Guests also enjoyed sipping Ardbeg 10 year old and the special release “Ardbog” throughout the evening.
To add to the experience, a representative from the Scottish distillery was on hand to give insight and tasting notes to the unique brand.
